ALASKA
Teaching Team

Discover Alaska’s unique 200 year Orthodox heritage by participating on an OCMC Teaching team. Walk where the first Saints of North America preached the truth of Orthodoxy. Follow in their footsteps as you teach the basic tenets of the Faith to villages in Kwethluk or Sitka, and in the surrounding areas. These teams will offer adult seminars and youth camps. Participants should be prepared to share the Orthodox Faith.

ALBANIA
Youth Outreach Team

Be a witness of the Faith in a country that is still 70% Muslim by being a part of a youth teaching and outreach Team to Albania. After five centuries of Ottoman presence and five decades of communist rule, the Church is making a remarkable turnaround. An English language camp will meet a growing need for proficient English speakers in Albania. You will teach English to children, be a witness the Orthodox Faith and minister to the children of Albania.

CAMEROON
Construction Team

Rainforests stretch from the Atlantic Ocean, giving way to savannah and semi-desert in the north where this Orthodox community does not have a permanent building to worship in. Help build a church in northern Cameroon where the Orthodox Faith has been embraced by the people of Marouaga. Building experience is not a prerequisite, but hard workers are.

ETHIOPIA
Health Care Team

OCMC Health Outreach will partner with International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) in Addis Ababa to evaluate efforts and assist local health care providers working with people living with HIV/AIDS. Experienced HIV/AIDS specialists trained in counseling, nutrition, and social work are needed.

GHANA
Teaching Team

Ghana is the first African country to gain independence from Colonial Rule in 1957. Teach the Orthodox Faith to catechists, Sunday school teachers and clergy in Accra, Ghana, which is celebrating 20 years of Orthodoxy. This Team will serve to strengthen the faithful and share a zeal for the faith. Clergy, theologians, seminarians, and those willing to teach the Faith are encouraged to participate.

GUATEMALA
Youth Outreach Team


Minister and nurture the children of the Hogar Rafael Ayau orphanage in Guatemala City. This youth outreach Team provides a summer camp program, crafts, teaching activities, and outings. This Team always fills up fast so send in your complete application soon.

Health Care Team

Specialized health care ministry will be offered to the children of the Hogar Rafael Ayau orphanage as part of a holistic outreach, which will meet dental, medical, physical therapy, and spiritual needs of over a hundred infants and youth.

KENYA
Construction Team

150 individuals were recently catechized and baptized and are now worshipping without a permanent church in Northern Kenya. Work alongside Kenyans of Lodwar to build a Church in a remote region where people from the Turkana tribe live. Evening catechism will also be a part of this Team’s goal. An option to serve for two weeks will be provided. Construction experience is welcomed, but not necessary.

Kenya II: July 3 – July 17, 2007**

Kenya III: July 14 – August 2, 2007**

Health Care Team

Touch the lives of sick and suffering Kenyans by ministering at Orthodox Clinics in Riruta and Chavogere. Visit the historic Chavogere clinic where the second OCMC team built a health clinic in 1988. Spend a week at the Orthodox clinic near the Makarios III Patriarchal Seminary outside of Nairobi and offer health care to the needy.

ROMANIA
Substance Abuse Counseling Outreach

Encourage individuals who are part of a substance abuse program of the St. Dimitrie Project in Cluj. This is the 4th year of loving outreach to provide support for the staff and those in the recovery program which is run by OCMC missionary Floyd Frantz. Participants must be certified substance abuse counselors or experienced in a program of recovery.

Youth Camp Team

Reach out to the youth of Romania through this Team that will focus on religious education and youth ministry in a camp setting. This is the 7th year that Orthodox from North America have had an opportunity to reach out to the younger generation of Romanian youth. Those with experience in youth ministry and camp programs are urged to apply.

Outreach Team

Join a master Orthodox Bahamian quilt maker to teach the art of hand quilting in Romania as part of a self sufficiency project for women. Romania began the transition from Communism in 1989 with a largely obsolete industrial base. This project will impact women in a country which still lags behind the rest of the world, economically, while sharing the Faith.

SOUTH AFRICA
Teaching Team


Experience the diversity of South Africa and be a part of the first OCMC team to this warm and inviting country. In the last decade the Orthodox Faith has been offered to all the people of South Africa. Be a part of this historic Teaching Team offering seminars on our Holy Orthodox Faith, and the ongoing witness, ministry and life of the Church in Pretoria. Some construction work may be involved.

TANZANIA
Teaching Team

Share the teachings of the Orthodox Faith with young adults, catechetical teachers and lay leaders in Tanzania during this evangelism and outreach ministry. Experience the zeal and excitement of the Church in Bukoba, which is growing with great intensity and fervor. Be a part of laying a foundation in the Faith of many.

Construction

Help build an Orthodox church for a growing community by offering your labor and service in western Tanzania. This building Team will assist a community with the construction of a multi-purpose facility that will also serve as the church, school and clinic. All hard workers are invited to apply today. Construction experience is welcomed, but not necessary.
