Dr. Anagnostis Agelarakis
Brief Biography:

The lecturer, Dr. Anagnostis Agelarakis was born in Kavala. Greece, where he completed his secondary education. He continued with academic studies in Austria, and completed
his BA and MS degrees in Sweden, in Archeology & Ethnology, and Environmental Studies respectively. In addition, he received his Master of Philosophy and Doctoral degrees from Columbia University, in New York, specializing in Anthropological Archeology and Physical Anthropology. He taught at Lund University in Sweden, the University of Crete, Saint John's University, New York Institute of Technology, and during the last sixteen years at Adelphi University.

Prof. Agelarakis is the first Hellene who holds a Full Professorship in American academia in the field of Anthropological Archeology and Physical Anthropology. He is also Director of the Environmental Studies Program at Adelphi University.

During the past 25 years he has carried out collaborative research projects in the larger domain of Human Ecology in Asia, Europe, and North America.

Prof. Agelarakis has over 120 publications in professional forums.
