Celebrating the First 100 Years . . . 1907--2007

for Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Portland, Oregon

The Greek Community of Oregon and Southwest Washington proudly announces that they will be celebrating the Centennial of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Portland, Oregon on May 4--6, 2007.

In the planning stages for nearly two years, the three-day event will consist of numerous activities commencing May 4th with a “Glendi” and a special ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Hellenic American Cultural Center (HACC) located in the Fr. Elias Stephanopoulos Community Center. Community members indicate that they are deeply honored that the center will be receiving its first blessing by His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios and His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos.

Saturday’s agenda will consist of a youth rally at Camp Angelos to be followed with the evening festivities at the Hilton Hotel. The Grand Banquet program will feature a video commemorating the innumerable events and the participants who contributed to the community's history over the past 100 years. Concluding the three-day event will be a Sunday morning brunch at Holy Trinity following the Divine Liturgy.

Support and enthusiasm in the community continues to grow as evidenced by the countless number of volunteers who have helped with this major event. For more information, visit the group's website at the URL http://www.hellenicamericancc.org
