Two-Week Summer Educational Program in Greece Announced for American College Students in 2011: Heritage Greece

Join National Hellenic Society and Deree--The American College of Greece for an unforgettable, educational two-week journey discovering the culture, history and people of Greece!

Heritage Greece is a complimentary, two-week National Hellenic Society educational and cultural program designed to connect college-aged, Greek-American students with their Greek heritage and foster a deeper understanding of the role of Hellenism in their lives and the world.

The Heritage Greece Program is made possible by a generous gift of the National Hellenic Society to selected Greek-American students as part of its mission to celebrate and preserve Greek heritage in the United States through the support of programs that impact young Greek-Americans.

The entire program is offered at no cost to selected students. The only expense to students is the travel to Washington DC.

The Heritage Greece Program is hosted by DEREE – The American College of Greece located in Athens, Greece. Selected students will travel to Greek islands, traditional villages, and cultural and archaeological sites. They will learn Greek dancing, take a Greek cooking class, and experience an insiders tour of the Acropolis museum.

To further enrich the experience, selected Greek college students will journey with Greek American students during the entire program – providing an opportunity to make friends and learn more about modern Greece.

The journey starts in June. Send in your application right away!

Application Deadline: March 1, 2011 (application instructions and downloadable forms at http://www.acg.edu/hg-apply-now )
