Brookline, MA -- Archbishop Iakovos, former Cathedral Dean of the Boston Cathedral (1942-55) will return to the scene of his early ministry to be featured speaker at the Cathedral's Centennial Grand Banquet. This historic event will be held at the picturesque and world-renowned John F. Kennedy Library on Saturday, June 7, 2003.

Expected to attend this nostalgic event are Metropolitan Methodios and other eminent church hierarchs and leaders, a host of national and city political dignitaries, and many former Cathedralites and friends. Toastmaster will be former three-time governor of Massachusetts and presidential candidate Michael Dukakis.

Highlighting this momentous affair will be a special tribute to all past Cathedral leaders who contributed to the Cathedral's glorious past 100 years. Among those leaders will be Cathedral deans and presidents, Philoptochos presidents and choir directors.

At 5:15 pm, prior to the Centennial Banquet, attendees will be offered a complimentary private viewing of the museum's wide historic collections.  Included will be a special exhibit of the Golden Anniversary of President and Mrs. John F. Kennedy, featuring Mrs. Kennedy's wedding dress, engagement ring, a poem she wrote to her husband, and exclusive color footage from the reception.

The Centennial Committee cordially invites all present and former Cathedral parishioners and friends to this once-in-a-lifetime Anniversary event. A prompt response is encouraged to guarantee seating. Further information may be obtained by calling the Cathedral Office at 617-731-6633.
