NSHWG DONATES $13,000 TO BOSTON METROPOLIS SPECIAL NEEDS
YOUTH CAMP PROGRAMS

During a recent visit to the Metropolis of Boston Center in Brookline, MA, North Shore Hellenic Women Guild's President Penelope Kanellos and members Harriet Delyani and Florence Dimopoulos presented Metropolitan Methodios with a donation of $13,000 for a camp program for young people with special needs called "Embracing Children" which is offered at the St. Methodios Faith and Heritage Center in Contoocook, NH. The funds were raised during the North Shore Hellenic Women's Guild Yuletide Ball held on December 11, 2004 at Jimmy's Allenhurst in Danvers, MA. Harriet Delyani chaired the successful event and Florence Dimopoulos was a member of the committee.

Metropolitan Methodios expressed his gratitude to the hardworking women who have supported the ministries of the Metropolis of Boston since the Guild was organized. Throughout the years, the North Shore Hellenic Women's Guild has supported the Metropolis of Boston Philoxenia House with generous donations of time, talents and funds. For many years, members of the Guild decorated the Philoxenia House during the Christmas Season, braving bad weather and always producing a Christmas decorated home which won the compliments of the entire neighborhood.

Said Metropolitan Methodios: "I am grateful to all the members of the North Shore Hellenic Women's Guild for their continuous and enthusiastic support of the ministries of our Metropolis. Their dedication and generosity is most encouraging to me and my co-workers. They have and continue to touch many lives in the Philoxenia House. Their generous support of the program for young people with special needs is touching many more, and is ensuring that all our children benefit from the programs offered at the St. Methodios Faith and Heritage Center."

This year, the Metropolis of Boston Embracing Children Camp will be held August 1-7 at the St. Methodios Faith and Heritage Center in Contoocook. With special needs counselors, it will be the second year that the Summer Camp Program reaches out to our children through faith, fun and fellowship
