Invitations for the Conference have gone to more than 300 active Orthodox Christian
ministries and all the canonical bishops in America. Faithful Orthodox Christians from all jurisdictions are cordially invited to attend this informative meeting.

OCL’s Inter-Orthodox Cooperation Initiative is intended to continue the work of the Conference of Orthodox Bishops held in 1994 in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. That Conference was convened by the Standing Conference of Canonical Orthodox Bishops in the Americas (SCOBA) and brought together twenty-nine bishops in an historic first assembly of all the Orthodox Bishops of the United States and Canada. The bishops at the Ligonier Conference, representing the entire spectrum of Orthodox Christian Churches, asserted: “We believe that the Orthodox of North America – bishops, clergy and laity – are called to think together, plan together, and work together…”

The Cleveland Conference is intended to bring together the ministries and faithful of the same spectrum of Orthodox Churches, and act upon, and in accordance with, the vision and powerful admonishment expressed by the bishops at their historic Ligonier gathering.
