"Greek Americans value education," said Kostas Koutsoubis, owner of New York Physical Therapy Sports Rehabilitation Center. "I am taking this opportunity to help students achieve higher goals. This scholarship is given to outstanding non-native speakers who pursue a Modern Greek Program at St. John's University."

The Third Annual 2006 New York Physical Therapy Sports Rehabilitation Award was presented to Ann Marie Renaldo of the Modern Greek language and Literature Program of St. John's University in the Center at 162-14 45th Ave., Flushing, NY. "I was inspired by a High School teacher and friend to take Modern Greek," said Ms. Renaldo. Her parents are Italian immigrants near Naples, the heartland of Magna Garcia (Greater Greece). Hellenism is being encouraged in mainstream America through symbolic scholarships.
