TAVLI

The Historical Framework

Tavli is a game of strategy, and belongs to this group of games. This group was developed in the people of Mesopotamia and the East Mediterranean. There is also an equivalent group of games that was developed in China and India, but it is clear that these games were not formed and affected from the games of the west world. The first historical meeting station of the east and west world is the Arabs and the game, which I believe that is the first meeting, is the chess, the most perfect game of strategy.




Tavli is not only a game of strategy, but also a game of chance.

This is what makes it very interesting. A good player during a big number of games is able to show his worth. But when the rounds are few, then the factor of luck may be determlnant and the die to help a player who is not so good.
In tavli, the player
creates doors, steady points from where he can help his draughts to be moved or to threat his opponent's draughts. Tavli is a game of strategy, of simultaneous defense and attack, with a continuous movement to the front, having as target the step by step spreading and of course tne win.

Risk and luck are the necessary.




I let you to decide which civilization of the area (the one who all believe that is the area that the human civilization began) has the same characteristic with the one we see in tavli....
