Adam B. Valindras Passes Away


ADAM B. VALINDRAS - 79 of Stamford, died on Monday, December 12, 2005 at Stamford Hospital. He was born on January 1, 1926 in Naxos Greece, son of the late Vasili and Katerina Valindras. He was a resident of Stamford for fifty-one years, a Member of the Cummings Boat Club and retired self-employed businessman for many years.

Mr. Valindras is survived by his wife, Freda C. Lecouras Valindras, daughter Kathi Moschos and son-in-law George Moschos of Stamford, CT, sons William Valendra and daughter-in-law Mary Valendra of Wilmington, NC, Charles Valendra and daughter-in-law Marialisa Valendra of Stamford. Survivors also include a sister, Patra Orfanou of Athens, Greece, seven grandchildren Spero and Amy Moschos of Stamford, CT, Barbara, Danielle and Nicole Valendra of Wilmington, NC, Melissa and Adam Valendra of Stamford, CT. Also survived by a great-granddaughter Crystal Valendra of Wilmington, NC.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers, Mihali and Nico Valindras and a great-grandson Anthony Lawrence.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, CT on Thursday, December 15, 2005 at 10:30 AM with the Rev. George Poulos officiating.

Interment will follow to Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Ave., Stamford, CT. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 14, 2005 from 4-8 PM. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home at 6:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The Carl and Dorothy Bennett Cancer Center, 30 Shelburne Rd., Stamford, CT 06904.
