Radio Industry Veteran Lee Zapis Joins Sonicbids' Board

BOSTON, MA & CLEVELAND, OH – September 25th, 2007 – Sonicbids, the leading online submission platform for indie bands and musicians, is proud to announce that Lee Zapis, co-founder of Zapis Communications and President of Cleveland-based Zapis Capital Group, has joined the company’s Board of Directors.

Mr. Zapis’ role with Sonicbids will be in an advisory capacity, helping to infuse new ideas into company with regards to working with radio and communications companies while helping to fast-track the company’s growth using his knowledge of media and interactive services.

While in the broadcast industry, Mr. Zapis was president of Zapis Communications, a closely held corporation that owned and operated radio stations in Cleveland, Akron and Youngstown, Ohio, as well as Atlanta and Boston. Under Mr.Zapis’ guidance, the stations received numerous national broadcast awards, including: Billboard Magazine's Black Radio Station of the Year; Program Director of the Year; Music Director of the Year and Air Personality of the Year. Zapis Communications stations were also nominated eight times for the Marconi award, the highest honor of the National Association of Broadcasters.


Mr. Zapis is also a member of the board of the Orthodox Christian Network (http://www.receive.org), a national radio ministry and the advisory board of the Nashville Songwriters Foundation, which honors and preserves the songwriting legacy of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame (http://www.nashvillesongwritersfoundation.com).
