The Hellenic and Near Eastern Musical Society Orchestra T M

Founded in 2000 by Christos and Mary Papoutsy,
this unique orchestra is thrilling audiences across the New England region.  With its acousticsound and repertoire of folk music and traditional favorites, the  orchestra is part of a great tradition of Greek-American music-making. Its members include some of the region's most gifted interpreters of Hellenic and Near Eastern music, as well as new talent.

The orchestra has performed music by such noted Greek composers and performers as Hatzidakis, Theodorakis, Markopoulos, Moschos, Tsitsanis, Dalaras, Alexiou, and Glykeria. The 27-piece orchestra includes violins, bouzoukia, guitars, trumpets, clarinets, flute, accordion, drums, piano, santouri, bass, and vocals. For concerts, concert-dances, and special events, the group offers its signature program, "Kyklos Musikis." Organizations interested in planning events may arrange to receive the ensemble's newly released double CD set with 25 songs at no charge by emailing our staff at papcoholding@papcoholdings.org

Repository of Hellenic and
Near Eastern Music Records and Scores

The Hellenic and Near Eastern Musical Ensemble Society seeks contributions of old music records and/or musical scores. The society has plans to create an archival repository of folk music in order to preserve and safeguard these cultural treasures. From these archives they will develop instructional sets of musical scores and CDs which they will make available to musicians and to the general public. Eventually they expect to develop a web site on the Internet from which interested persons may download these tutorial sets.

Persons who wish to donate old record, tape, or sheet music collections will receive full credit for their contributions to this important undertaking. To facilitate and encourage donations of unused collections, the society will underwrite payment for the shipping of collections to its repository. For additional details or to make arrangements for a contribution, please email our staff at papcoholding@papcoholdings.org.
How to Contact or Book the Orchestra

Organizations interested in planning events may contact the society's office or arrange to receive the ensemble's double CD set with 25 songs at no charge by emailing requests (papcoholding@papcoholdings.org) or by mailing them to our staff (Hellenic & Near Eastern Musical Society Orchestra, PO Box 710, Rye Beach, NH 03871)
